Turkish Stock Index Ends Lower

(MENAFN) The main stock gauge in Türkiye concluded Wednesday’s session at 10,591.98 points, reflecting a slight decline of 0.23% compared to the previous day's finish.

Beginning the day at 10,645.12, the BIST 100 index dropped by 24.11 points from Tuesday’s closing level. Throughout the trading session, the index fluctuated between a low of 10,571.73 and a peak of 10,673.13.

In terms of market performance, 36 sub-indices registered gains, whereas 59 ended the day with declines.

The total trading volume for the day hit 99.9 billion Turkish liras (equivalent to $2.47 billion).

Meanwhile, the overall market capitalization of the index reached 9.79 trillion liras (approximately $242.75 billion).

As of 6:25 p.m. local time (1525GMT), the exchange rate for the US dollar against the Turkish lira stood at 40.4550.

The euro was exchanged at 47.5235 liras, and the British pound was trading at 54.9570 liras.

The value of gold per ounce was recorded at "$3,413.50", and the going rate for a barrel of Brent crude oil was "$67.65".
