BIST 100 Climbs to New Record

(MENAFN) Türkiye’s primary stock gauge wrapped up the week on Friday at 12,200.95 points, advancing 0.93% and marking yet another all time peak.

Opening the session at 12,130.19 points, the Borsa Istanbul BIST 100 index gained 112.98 points compared to Thursday’s finish.

Throughout the day, the index touched a low of 12,065.99 and reached a high of 12,200.95.
The overall market capitalization of the BIST 100 hovered near 12 trillion Turkish liras (equivalent to $280.7 billion), while trading activity amounted to 157 billion liras ($3.65 billion).

Out of the listed companies, 52 shares advanced while 46 declined relative to the prior close.
Meanwhile, gold was priced at $4,505.90 per ounce, and Brent crude oil traded at $63.2 per barrel as of 7:15 p.m. local time (1615 GMT).

Currency markets showed the US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate at 43.1410, the euro/Turkish lira at 50.2500, and the British pound at 57.9180 liras.
